Universal Transportation Services (UTS) takes the protection of your privacy seriously. We do not collect, store, or disclose personal information from users of our website.
Users may voluntarily submit personal information through use of one of our website forms. All information submitted by users of our website will be kept confidential and will not be shared, sold, or distributed in any manner with third parties unless such disclosure is required to satisfy any applicable law or legal process.
To administer user shipments, UTS may disclose contact information to our agents for the purpose of performing services on behalf of UTS. To protect our customers' privacy, we work only with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and prohibit them from using the information we provide for any other purpose. We do not permit these companies to sell or otherwise distribute the information we give them to any other third party.
Terms & Conditions
USAGE. This web site is owned by Universal Transportation Services (hereafter "UTS") and is made available to you under the terms and conditions set forth herein. By using this website you have agreed to accept these terms and conditions.
PROPRIETARY RIGHTS. This website and all its contents are the sole property of UTS. All content on this website is protected by copyright of UTS or by other parties that have granted use of their material to UTS. Any copies of content from this website must include copyright notice referencing UTS.
QUOTES. Rate quotations are given as estimates of freight charges based on the information supplied by you and do not constitute a guarantee or contract to transport freight at a set rate or price. Freight charges shall be based upon the actual commodity, weight, and measure at time of shipping. Unless otherwise stated, all freight quotation expire after thirty (30) days, are based upon present tariff and shipping conditions, and are subject to confirmation at time of booking.
TRANSIT TIME. All transit times are give as reasonable estimates based on current conditions. Unless explicitly stated in writing, prior to shipment, UTS is not bound to deliver a shipment by a particular date, but is responsible to transport with reasonable dispatch. In any case, whether delivery by a specified date has been guaranteed in writing or not, UTS shall not be liable for any delay caused by an Act of God, the public enemy, terrorism, the authority of law, or the act or default of shipper. Furthermore, UTS shall not be liable for any delay arising from faulty or impassible highway; or by lack of capacity of a highway bridge or ferry; or from a defect or vice in the property; or from riots or strikes.

PACKING. All shipments must be properly packaged for truck, rail, and ocean transport. UTS shall not be liable for damages to items with insufficient packaging and reserves the right to refuse shipments with insufficient packaging or improper packing.
PAYMENT. For all first time shipments and until approval and establishment of credit, UTS shall require payment of freight charges prior to delivery or will call pickup by company check, money order, or bank/cashier's check only. No credit cards or personal checks will be accepted for payment. If a personal check is inadvertently accepted, the shipment will not be released for delivery or will call pickup until the check funds have cleared from your financial institution. Subject to written notice from UTS, failure to pay charges may result in a lien on the shipment in UTS possession and/or any future shipments, including storage and security costs for the shipment held, pursuant to SEC 3051 & 3051.5 of the California Civil Code.
LIMITED LIABILITY. Universal Transportation Services liability for loss and damage is limited by law. In no case shall the maximum cargo liability for new goods be greater than $100,000 for Full-container load shipments or the lesser of $2.50 per pound or $500 for Less-than-container load shipments. In no case shall the maximum cargo liability for used goods be more than $0.10 per pound for any shipment. Upon request, UTS can additionally provide placement based cargo insurance for most commodities.
CLAIMS FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE. All claims must be submitted to UTS within thirty (30) days after delivery. Claims for concealed damage must be submitted to UTS within 7 days after delivery. Claims for loss or damage do not mitigate the responsible party from payment of all freight charges.
